The road to Innsbruck runs through London.
Team Canada Deaf Hockey will hold its national selection training camp at Western University in London, Ontario from August 5–9, 2026. Athletes selected from this camp will go on to represent Canada at the 2027 Winter Deaflympics in Innsbruck-Seefeld-Tirol, Austria, the world’s premier international stage for Deaf athletes.
The camp brings together Canada’s top Deaf hockey players for five days of intensive on-ice training, evaluation, and team-building. Coaching staff will assess players across all positions as the program finalizes its roster for the Games.

The Prize: Innsbruck 2027
The 2027 Winter Deaflympics take place January 15–24, 2027 in the Innsbruck-Seefeld-Tirol region of Austria, a legendary alpine setting that has hosted Olympic competition before. Eleven sports are on the program, with ice hockey among the marquee events.
Canada arrives in Austria with unfinished business. At the 2025 Winter Deaflympics in Vancouver, Team Canada earned a Bronze medal. The program’s goal for Innsbruck is clear: gold.
“My expectation is to help Canada win all of our games and bring Gold home.”
What to Expect at Camp
The five-day camp at Western University is where the roster takes shape. Players compete for spots through on-ice sessions, compete alongside one another in team drills, and are evaluated by coaching staff on compete level, systems comprehension, and positional play.
For returning veterans, camp is an opportunity to set the standard. For players earning their first national call, it’s a chance to prove they belong.
More details on camp logistics and how to stay connected with the program will be shared as the summer approaches. Follow Team Canada Deaf Hockey on social media for updates.
