Welcome to Team Canada Deaf Hockey. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, programs, and services. Team Canada Deaf Hockey operates under the Canadian Deaf Sports Association (CDSA). By accessing our website or participating in our programs, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or participating in Team Canada Deaf Hockey programs, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or participate in our programs.

Program Participation

Eligibility

To participate in Team Canada Deaf Hockey programs, athletes must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Meet eligibility requirements as defined by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD)
  • Have a hearing loss of at least 55 decibels (pure tone average at 500, 1000, 2000 Hz) in the better ear
  • Complete all required registration forms and provide accurate information
  • Comply with the CDSA Code of Conduct and program policies

Code of Conduct

All participants, coaches, staff, and volunteers must adhere to high standards of conduct, including respect for others, fair play, integrity, and compliance with anti-doping policies. Violations may result in suspension or removal from the program.

Risk and Liability

Participation in hockey programs involves inherent risks. Participants acknowledge these risks and agree to participate at their own risk. Participants and/or guardians must sign appropriate waivers and release forms before participating in any activities.

Donations and Payments

All donations to Team Canada Deaf Hockey are processed through the Canadian Deaf Sports Association (CDSA). By making a donation:

  • Donations are voluntary and non-refundable
  • Tax receipts will be issued by CDSA for eligible donations
  • Donations will be used to support the Team Canada Deaf Hockey program
  • You provide accurate contact information for receipt delivery
  • You agree to CDSA's donation policies and terms

Disclaimer of Warranties

This website and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or harmful components. Sport Dispute Resolution

Disputes related to athlete selection, competition eligibility, or other sport-specific matters may be subject to the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) procedures as outlined in CDSA policies.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our website after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
