How Hearing Loss Affects Sound

High Frequencies First

Most hearing loss starts with high-frequency sounds puck cracks, whistle peaks, and sharp voice consonants fade first.

Overall Volume Loss

As loss progresses, overall loudness drops. Moderate sounds disappear entirely. Only very loud, low sounds remain.
